Martin Higgins

Martin Higgins grew up in the Middle of England and had an extensive education in Hospitality and Hotel Management. After realising his vocation lay in private service, he took a position within The Royal Household.

He trained at Buckingham Palace as a footman and underbutler – a prestigious start to his career in the private service industry. He worked throughout Europe for an elite clientele, followed by almost ten years for a prominent New York family. He returned to London to co-create Green Baize Door, one of the World’s leading domestic Staff agencies as well operating Private Chefs Incorporated, London.

In 2006, he turned his efforts to run and manage the various households Worldwide of a HNW family. Through his professionalism, reliability, diplomacy and his extensive experience in all fields of private service, Martin’s clients have trusted him to interview, hire, train and supervise staff, manage the estate’s administration as well as manage on a ‘hands-on’ basis, the daily running of multiple residences.

Combining his years of experience with his empathetic and compassionate nature, Martin can work easily with both employers and staff alike to discuss areas that require help; and thus work effectively and joyfully with staff to train and bring them up to scratch. He knows the importance of harmony in a household and how strong organisation and communication is vital to the smooth running of any home.

From his experience managing a multitude of incredible residences alongside exceptional staff, he became aware that similar issues arose in almost every home. He realised these were generally caused through breakdowns in communication, whether it be a lack of clarity, instruction or without effective organizational systems in place. The simplest of requests had the propensity to cause a multitude of dilemmas.

He put a lot of thought into how these same issues could be prevented and why it was that they were always repeated time and time again in many households? There was no organisational software that he could find, that existed to help solve these issues that was simple to use, efficient and that really worked.

Consequently, over the last couple of years, Martin and his team have created ‘House Martin App’ to assist in the organisation of fine homes and the running and synchronisation for employers with multiple homes around The World.
